It is a deeply personal and unique process of changing one’s attitudes, values, feelings, goals, skills and/or roles. It is a way of living a satisfying, hopeful, and contributing life even with limitations caused by the disability/illness.

Life stage and Transition

Strengthening your ability to live at home and participate in your community including

  • Life transition planning, mentoring, peer support  and individual skill development
  • Assistance with decision making, daily planning and budgeting.

Behaviour Support

Providing support to implement behaviour plans that aim to reduce and manage behaviours of concern.

Therapeutic Support

Assist you to apply your functional skills to improve participation and independence in everyday life  roles and responsibilities  like looking after yourself, looking after the place you live in, assist you with finding more meaningful engagements. This can include personal care, interpersonal interactions,  everyday life skills and budgeting.

Being part of your community participation

We at FOSTERING INDEPENDENCE ensure that people of all abilities can explore and participate in healthy, meaningful activities and lifestyles with community organisations, services and businesses in the community.  The availability of these services enables people to make real choices about how they spend their leisure time and enjoy social activities.

Some examples of recreational and community involvement activities supported by us include:
